The lovely neo-classic organ of Santa María Ejutla is distinguished by the repeated profile line of the lower case in the façade and the painting and gilding of the upper case (20th century?). At some point the organ was positioned in the center of the choir loft. The keyboard and drawstops were moved to the back, as suggested by particular construction details inside the case. A hole in the shape of an eye was cut in the roller board, which allowed the organist to coordinate the music with the priest in the church below. Later the organ was moved back to the side of the choir loft, and keyboard and stops returned to their original position.
